So glad I stumbled upon this. It’s the perfect little indie coming of age story with none of the cheesiness but all of the nuance of adolescent emotion.

Elena Ferrante is a wonder. I would give this book 4 stars if comparing it to her other work, but relative to fiction as a whole? Five stars. And the only reason for the 4 compared to her other work is that this finished really abruptly. I felt suddenly CUT OFF. I don't need total closure, of course, but this just felt undone.

Abandoned 1/3 in. Well written but just wasn’t interested - was in need of a lighter read. May come back to it...
