This book was underwhelming, I was expecting much more.
The premise is amazing and exciting but the execution... not so much.
The characters were underdeveloped and some events felt too convenient.
The story is told through Lore's POV and it might have been better for character development if there were multiple POVs. It felt like the story was unbalanced if that makes sense.
Some aspects of it were very creepy.
I did enjoy the flashbacks that gave us glimpses of Lore's past. The fight scenes were really good and I was curious how it would all end.
There are a lot of trigger warnings, so beware of that if you want to read it.
TWs: murder (including children); rape/sexual assault; loss of loved ones; grief; terminal illness; misogyny; abuse; gore; graphic violence; pedophilia; slavery.

What more could a history major with a penchant for Greek Mythology and female heroines want in a book? I knew before I’d even cracked the spine I would fall head over heels into this story and I was right. I followed Lore’s journey with her friends and the gods, felt her love and hatred and betrayal, shocked by the twists, enamoured by the love, and cried at the heartbreaking moments. Ending the book was bittersweet but I could not put it down. I would have liked a more informative and resolved ending, 1-2 pages is not enough. I was expecting a sequel as there were too many unanswered questions, but I guess I can live with the happily ever after. If you love mythology, fast paced action, surprising twists and betrayal, fiery heroines, and love in all the right places, then this book is for you.

I can’t get over how much I love this book. I wasn’t expecting to love it this much because I thought parts of the plot were going to be predictable. It wasn’t until Athena’s betrayal that I realised how much I was enthralled!
I didn’t predict any of the plots regarding the Aegis throughout the book, only the Apollo storyline and what I thought would be the Wrath storyline. However, this book just subverted my every expectation and had me kicking myself for not realising things sooner. 10/10 would recommend this book to anyone!
