i hated this then i liked it then i hated it again. it's only interesting if you believe that joanna knew what she was doing the whole time. otherwise, it's black swan but for chicago theater. honestly didn't know it was possible to name drop so many chicago places.

Read this immediately after finishing her second book “They Never Learn” (which I LOVED). Something felt a little off about this — but it was weird and dark and enjoyable in so many ways that I don’t really care that it wasn’t perfect.

I guess I didn’t understand the book. Seemed like a bunch of horny people working together. A lot of clenching teeth, biting lips and scratching each other? Overall I thought it was dumb.

The writing is really good, but I just didn’t get it. The very last scene somewhat made it click for me, but I still spent the whole book feeling like I’m missing the point.
