La propaganda cristiana més heavy i descarada que he vist en molt temps envoltada en una història 10/10. Em treus tot el tema de Deu nostro senyor i, sumant-hi la nostàlgia, obra mestra del segle.

This is a really really awesome, cute, lovely book. I am glad I read it. A book full of positive energy and a lovely a message not to leave hope and faith no matter what happens. I surely would recommend it to my friends :-)

Oh dear, a book I loved as a brain-washed Catholic child does not hold up as the years have passed and I realize how religion is a social construct of nonsense.

I was unable to find the edition I borrowed from the library among those listed on Goodreads. The Heidi I read in 2018 is the Lippincott Classics edition copyright 1948 with an introduction by Angelo Patri and illustrations by Agnes Tait.

Heidi was one of my childhood favorites and I have been wanting to revisit it for some time. I was not disappointed with this reading; I still loved Heidi and her attitude of optimism. I didn't remember the religious tones, but in this reading found those themes appropriate. I enjoyed the introduction about author, Johanna Spyri. She seemed to draw on her own life for aspects of the Heidi story.

This was my favorite book as a child and it definitely lives up to my fond memories of it. Obviously, it was a totally different experience reading it as an adult, as most children's books are. But even so, it had a pretty decent storyline, and really hit all of my nostalgia buttons.

German reread: Ich las dieses Buch, weil ich Deutsch üben muss. Ich habe das Buch bereits vorher gelesen, aber in Bosnisch, und ich habe gedacht, dass das Original besser sein muss. Ich war nicht enttäuscht.
