Hemska tanke.

A refreshing take on the classic heist book. With characters that you want to root for, and clever tactics and antics that will leave you both impressed and laughing. These pensioners are giving everyone a run for their money and I’m cheering them along every step of the way!

This book made me want to simultaneously take my grandparents on an adventure, and hold them extra close. The perfect book to curl up with and get lost in for a couple of hours.

Definitely not as good as the first book. While it wasn't terrible, don't feel like you need to read it if you have read the first one. It doesn't add much to the original story.

After stealing some very valuable diamonds, the League of Pensioners need to get out of Stockholm.  They decide to lie low in a small town in the middle of nowhere.  However they quickly realise that like many other rural towns, Hemmavid is slowly dying and the five doughty pensioners decide to save the town.  Although how they are going to do that when they are wanted criminals is a bit of a problem.
Not having read the previous installments I came to this book completely cold but it made no difference.  The plot is suitable picaresque and fun, the characters amusing and the whole is just delightful!

I adore these books and I hope there is another eventually. While this book was a lot of fun, very entertaining and extremely uplifting, I didn't feel it was as good as the first. One of the things that made the first book so great was all the coincidences and how lives intertwined. This book didn't have as much of this and I felt that the stakes were toned down a bit. Still, it was a good read and a nice sequel. Very much enjoyed it.
