One of my favourite Mariana Zapata books ever. I cried sm bc I just related to the character in so many ways. I stayed up all night listening to this book and it was an absolute masterpiece.

I have yet to read a book by Mariana Zapata I have not adored. Consistently amazing work.

Re-read: still had me tearing up. And the dynamic between the MC’s, chefs kiss

Things were getting a bit slumpy over here so I decided to re-visit Mariana Zapata (please let her release a new book soon).

I enjoyed this one, but there are quite a few moments in this book that start to make the Hero unredeemable in my eyes.

5- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I was fine, I was safe, and I was loved.

Luna and the Lie was the mother of slowburn but... it was the sweetest and most decadent slowburn romance I've ever read.

It's my 6th Mariana Zapata book and slowburn romance is her trademark, but something about this book just made it worthwhile.

Like most of MZ's stories, it was character-driven but what's special about this book is out of all of her heroines I found Luna to be the most relatable and I felt so much for her.

Luna and the Lie delivered a perfect sunshine x grumpy dynamic with the main couple. A sweet sweet slowburn, and best of all: one-bed trope

Controversial but not her best book - definitely not her WORST I enjoyed a few scenes A LOTTTTT which I saved to read again later but most of the book was just eh for me. I also didn’t like his pet name bc he was older and made it seem like he was talking to a literal child

Would read again if I decided to read all her books in order again but after reading from lukov with love before this? It feels unfair that this follows im sorry Mariana - BUT I am still giving it 3.75/5 because I still love u and trust that the best thing will be better

Another amazing read from Zapata. She writes books that make you want to reread them when you finish the last page to keep that tingle going. Heartfelt, warm, funny, heartbreaking, and lovely, I would read anything by this woman and this book is simply amazing. GREAT job! <3

Lucas Ripley can call me baby girl any day of the week my gosh. Luna is the sweetest thing ever I love her and I love that her kindness doesn’t take away from her strength. She’s a true queen and I loveee these two together. Mariana Zapata never EVER fails.

This was not my favorite of the Zapata books I’ve read so far, but I’m still giving it four stars because Zapata can do no wrong. It took some time to get into the bulk of the story and there was just a tad too much inner monologue. I will also say that this one is definitely her slowest of slow burns. At one point I wasn’t even sure if we’d get any pages to see the MCs as a couple and when I finished, I wished there were a few more chapters of Rip and Luna. Even though I didn’t find it to be her best work, the book was written in a way that made even interaction feel organic and natural. I’m excited to see Lenny, Luna’s best friend, get her own book.

Perfect book if you’re into:
-Grumpy male hero’s
-Mechanic shop setting
-Workplace romance
-Family drama
-Age gap
