So many fantastic authors in this collecting! It can be hard to execute a plot for a short story, but all of these authors produced thought provoking gothic tales. I favoured Purcell, Hargrave and Hurley, but all the stories were imaginative and exciting reads.

A solid collection of ghostly gothic tales! I was mostly interested in Bridget Collins' story, since I loved her book The Binding, but enjoyed the rest too.

An enjoyable collection of gothic tales set mostly in the Victorian period. I like gothic tales because so many of them focus on women being deemed mad if they rebel against society's expectations or accuse powerful men of any misdeeds. Several of these stories centre on that theme.
