im not rating it because i read it for uni and not because i wanted to (at first) but i really loved it and if i had to give it a rating it would probably be a 3,5/5⭐️ or a 4/5⭐️.

i really enjoyed my time studying this book because it’s one with a center theme about deceiving people + what one’s ready to do to achieve what they want. it really tackled the way one’s ambition can lead to their demise and how sometimes we should be more careful with what we want. i loved the way they turned macbeth who’s seen as this good man, who’s loyal, into this evil man who’s ready to go to length no one should go to in order be in power and to stay there.

i think the way the characters are all imperfects and all lead themselves into tragedy (in a way) is really interesting because they’re ready to people anything until it goes the way they want it to; and when it stops going the way they want they’re ready to change everything. which i think is a characteristic a lot of humans have.

anyways, reading this book for uni and doing a dissertation topic has truly been one of the most fun times i had studying a book in university or in my whole education, really. i think i might re-read (re-watch a representation of the play!) one day for my own pleasure and see if i still like it a lot and if i can catch other little meaning about it! i really think i want to dive into shakespeare books a lot more now; scared to do it but excited nonetheless!

It feels so weird to rate Shakespeare. It's so beautifully written, and is genuinely interesting, but it feels difficult to reflect on in 2025. I think I just can't do it, especially as someone who tries to do purely enjoyment-based ratings.

I read this for school like most of everyone else, and I liked the story. It's definitely a classic and I'd recommend most people to read it or at least know the storyline and some of the well-known quotes.

the language mad it hard for me to fully grasp the story, but what i understood i liked, the character of lady macbeth was my favorite she was a sociopath and pushed her husband to murder, the ending felt a little to convenient but poetic non the less.

Just as disturbing and infuriating as the first time I read it.
