Suze & Jesse as adults, and both alive & together is my favorite thing in the world! Iām not ready for my reread of this series to be over!! Meg Cabot, can we get another book in this world? Maybe with Suze & Jesse as parents, teaching their kids (& the triplets) how to be good mediators? Pretty please? šš»

Managing to stay fun despite the dark subject matter, Remembrance burns through too much plot at once, giving a somewhat rushed but welcome return to the life of Susannah Simon's mediator.
Graphic: Self harm and Sexual harassment
Moderate: Pedophilia and Suicide

"The second I said the name, her mouth twisted as if she'd just bit into the foulest tasting thing she'd ever had the misfortune to eat. I should have known. Even Sister Ernestine had a him. Maybe every single woman in the world has a him."
Very on par with Suze's high school days, her world shifts well into the adult realm. There were a lot of serious topics that caught me off guard because the tone/voice is so similar to the earlier/younger books. I would suggest checking content warnings or at least being aware that this story touches upon genuinely sensitive subject matter.
After so much hype throughout, I found the main plot (with Paul) and the ultimate Jesse/Suze conclusion underwhelming, and found the ghost plot much more engaging, but ultimately this story did provide what I felt was missing from the original series, which was Jesse's adjustment and an established, functional relationship
Moderate: Child death, Gun violence, Pedophilia, Self harm, Suicide, and Violence
Minor: Animal death, Cursing, Drug abuse, Sexual assault, and Suicidal thoughts
Detailed scene of an attempted drowning. The ghost plot centers on the ghost of a murdered child. As a school counselor, Suze encouters a survivor of past child sexual abuse, and while it is heavily implied, no details are explained. In the same context, Suze encounters students who struggle with self harm and express suicidal thoughts, which are in slightly more detail. Heavily implied references to child porn consumption, as well as creation and distribution.
