I (finally!) watched this movie not knowing what to expect. And I ended up being bored and confused for a good part of it. Newt accidentally lets loose some magical creatures in New York City and is struggling to find them and frankly speaking, I couldn't care less. Yes, the plot picks up a LOT later, and it goes much deeper than just finding magical creatures and also starts making sense; but what can I say? [a:J.K. Rowling|1077326|J.K. Rowling|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1596216614p2/1077326.jpg] has written SO much better, that I just expected more. It's a good movie, and the screenplay was great because I read about a lot of details that missed my attention while watching the movie. It's certainly different from the Harry Potter series, and, in my opinion, not even close to as awesome. But, it's a matter of preferences, so make your own opinion.

PS: The illustrations and the cover of the book are absolutely stunning. It's worth owning the screenplay just for them.

Million times better than the film. Of course I love the film, but the screenplay has these extra details and explanations that make it all the more interesting. Besides there is JK's narrative which is simply superb as always!

This was the perfect addition to my Harry Potter marathon of 2020! I loved learning all of the background knowledge. I will say, this was definitely weird as an audio book, but it was different and added so much to the original series.

Being a screenplay details lack and a lot of things get missed out. I am yet to watch the films so I can’t really compare but in terms of the story I enjoyed it, I was able to keep up with it and liked it. The beginning was a bit confusing because it was changing scenes so much but as you read on it becomes easier to read. I read this in one sitting I don’t know if that’s because it doesn’t have any chapters or because it is a play, but I found it easy to read in just a couple of hours. It does make me want to watch the films and is left on a cliffhanger which is sort of predictable. Overall, I did enjoy it and it makes me want to read more plays!
