I've wanted to read this book for quite a long time now and then I finally got it as a birthday present from my awesome friends, but even after that it took me 2 months before I actually started reading it. I'm like that sometimes with books.

I especially enjoyed the beginning, the story of growing up in a very children-unfriendly part of Berlin, not that much of a functional family and a general lack of interest of adults in their childrens' lives. It's truly and amazing introduction into the live of Christiane. After that the story gets more and more intense and I often kept forgetting (because of all the horrible things she went through)that she was still only a child. If you have anyone in a family around the same age (12-14) try to picture them in similar situations. I have a 13 year old niece and it was damn impossible.

Anyway the story is really captivating, the fact that it's actually a real story just makes it a hundred times more interesting and I really really recommend it to anyone!
