I love Evenson’s writing, but for whatever reason I didn’t enjoy this short story collection as much as his first one. There were many stories I did enjoy, especially Room Tone and Shirts and Skins. Shirts and Skins felt like a bizarre dream I could see myself having. But, I think I’m just not a huge fan of the more sci-fi leaning stories, which this collection had a lot of. Either way I’m sure I’ll read more of Evenson’s stories, and I am overall glad that I read this on.

3.75. There were a few just excellent stories, but mostly meh to good. Occasionally a really lame one but those were few and far between. The best ones really were great, however, so don’t be discouraged away from reading this book. Just skip a story if you aren’t into it, and a good one should float along soon.

This didn’t feel like a horror set of stories. Not necessarily a thriller either, it’s hard to explain. I’d recommend certain stories but not all. Also why do so many lick the walls clean?
