My opinion on the ending (SPOILERS!!!)
The fact that isabelle expirianced that much pain when Marie, jer duaghter died, that it TRANSCENDED GENERATIONS is so interesting. She has gone thru so much pain becouse she failed to protect her daughter whcih she tried to do all her life (pulling out her orange hair so shes not picked on etc.), that now the dream of the color blue comes, almost as a warning, to a pregnant/to be pregnant women is amazing. It feels so real, im young and dont know what it is like to lose someone, but the author still made me feel what isabelle felt in a deeper way. A pain so gut wrenching and heart breaking that it carries thru GENERATIONS and generations of women. Ella did the same thing that isabelle done when she found out Marie died, without even knowing her personaly. The ending is so thought provoking. It rlly made me sit there. The rest of rhe book was a bit worse. It also felt like tthe author wanted for the booo to have a deeper meaning but didnt exatcly know what it was. So we have a lot of Random puzzle pieces but not the full picture. Overall i enjoyed it.

Beautifully written and the haunting story will stick with you for a while after you read it. I'm a big fan of Tracy Chevalier and prefer this book to Girl With The Pearl Earring.

Evocative with some striking scenes, I found it immersive even if I didn’t always agree with Ella.
