A magical and intriguing tale of a fairy undercover as a human, political conflict, and a scary-looking robot with the biggest heart!

I've been a fan of Suitor Armor on Webtoon since it's initial release and I was so excited to be granted access to an ARC of volume 2! Purpah's method of slow worldbuilding works in a marvellous way as we as the audience descend into the interpersonal relationships and personalities of all the characters. From knights, royalty, mages and more, each character is distinct and possesses a unique charm, while the socio-political world quietly and not-so-quietly shapes around them.

I cannot wait to see what comes in Volume 3!

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

4 stars - It was really good

This volume contains chapters 18-38 of the webtoon comic. A bonus chapter featuring the continuation of Baynard and Peres’ story is included at the end.

This volume picks up right where the previous one ended. Lucia is now an apprentice for the court mage and is learning about magic. A lot of big things happen in this volume with someone finding out the truth about her being a fairy, Morpheus’s ability to talk being revealed, and Lucia continuing to hunt for the truth about the fairies. There were a lot of important events that happened in this that changed everything for Lucia and I am very curious to see how she deals with it going forward.

Also I am very curious to find out what Lucia unveiled at the end of this volume since it was clearly something horrifying or scary.

TW: animal death and injuries; war and genocide of a race

This just gets better!

The storyline is progressing in such a natural way and adding more and more depth and intrigue. The illustrations and colours are still wonderful and create such a rich world.

Still one of my fave web toon series - and love how the story is tighter and better edited in this book version. It’s like I’m discovering it for the first time all over again. Awesome! My only detraction would be that I want it to be longer. Can’t wait for the next volume.

Suitor Armor has quickly become a favorite graphic novel series of mine. Purpah has built a wonderful fantasy world full of tension and conflict. Each character brings a unique perspective to the story, and Modeus and Lucia in particular have so much nuance to their development. Reimund has easily become a favorite, because he's just too darn cute. I can't wait to continue this series!
