After reading this one, I really wish I’d read it before If Only He had Told Me. As far as young adult novels go, I think they’d really connect to this material. I can see a lot of young people feeling some modicum of relief that they aren’t the only ones to (fill in the blank).

For people who love tragedies (me.) At least 7 chapters of my least favorite boyfriend could have been cut (skipped).
I hate suprise pregnancy tropes
chapter 81 made it all worth it

 DEPRESSING.

“Can’t sad things be beautiful?”

Yes… but it still hurts. Booktok made me read this. 4 stars because it was well written but honestly I wish I had skipped this one. I should have known better. From chapter 1 I knew this book was going to hurt and it did. The whole thing was painful, in a beautifully written way. I want to scream into the void and eat a pint of ice cream now.

Honestly I’ve expected more. I wanted a very reflective love story which dives deep into the different types of loves. While at some times it scratches the surface it never goes beyond.
Additionally some aspects are kinda problematic; purity as a concept to be maintained, abortion as not even a possibility and pregnancy as the saving moment. I feel like a lot of the themes could have been handled more sensible. Over all it was a nice read but didn’t really stay with me and I often had to try not to read too much into it.
