This book is so amazing I honestly thought it would just be another romance novel and I would probably DNF but I fell in love with everything about it

"Even sad things can be beautiful" perfectly encapsulates the essence of If he had been with me. This heartwarming teenage romance follows childhood best friends Autumn and Finn as they navigate their growing feelings for each other. What sets this book apart is its authenticity. There's no instant love; instead, their relationship blossoms organically through shared experiences and a deep understanding of each other.

The author's writing style is engaging and easy to follow. Although the middle portion may feel a bit slow-paced at times, it serves as a necessary buildup to the climactic romance.

While the ending may be somewhat predictable, it doesn't detract from the emotional impact of the story. The book leaves you feeling a sense of contentment and melancholy, a testament to its ability to evoke genuine emotions.

Overall, this book explores the complexities of teenage life, first love and the power of friendship. I eagerly anticipate the next book in the series, told from Finn's perspective.

A Note on Trigger Warnings: It's important to mention that the book delves into sensitive topics such as depression and eating disorders. While the author doesn't delve too deeply, it's crucial to acknowledge these themes for potential readers.

I can understand the hype behind this one. I really enjoyed it as a standalone. Im not sure if I want to read the 2nd book because this one really felt like it wrapped up where it needed to.
