It's a real tragedy there was never a continuation of this book. It is fascinating. Such an interesting man and a life cut so short so unfairly.

My rating of this one is clearly biased by (a) loving Michael Jackson, and (b) this being his one and only autobiography. Naturally it is, as the majority of high-profile celebrity memoirs are, partly ghost-written, but less so than you might expect (there are, in fact, audio recordings floating around out there on YouTube, of Michael dictating much of the content within this book to the author who compiled the material for it over the course of a few years, his friend Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis). Its worth and intrigue primarily lies in being one of the rarest glimpses (in the written form, anyway) into Michael's immediate thought process, as it pertains to his art, his family, his goals for the future, and his life in general. An all too brief, yet personal and illuminating, glimpse into the mind of an eccentric, lovable genius.

I loved this book. Moonwalk painted a different, more likeable picture of the late Michael Jackson. You get to go into his mind and see how he sees things. The book makes me feel that I'm friends with the King of Pop. You get to read about his childhood and how hard he worked as a child and how he had to grow up too fast.

I reread this Michael Jackosn's autobiography, I loved even more than the first time I had the chance to read it. I was able to get a chance to read a piece of Michael Jackson, and somebody who is a fan I really appreciate it. Michael details how his life as a huge artist, and how he was able to go from just a simple little boy from Indiana to the sensational King of Pop. At the age of 30, it is something that is very inspirational.

2.5*s. Entertaining enough but lacked the personal touch. Felt like it could’ve discussed a lot more than it did and it wasn’t very revealing or enlightening. It felt like reading a biography rather than an autobiography

A beautifully written book, Michael is one of my favourite individuals. I think anyone who reads this, and realises the gentle, loving man he was would know deep down all the rumours against him are false. A lovely read, with some very powerful emotional moments. May he rest in peace, and his legacy continue.

It will probably surprise most people to learn that I have only just read this book, considering how big of a Michael Jackson fan I am. But seeing how I was mostly obsessed with him at High School, when this book was very difficult to get hold of, it isn’t actually that strange.

The first thing to point out is that this autobiography was first published in 1988 and so the bulk of it is about his childhood and his first two albums he produced as a solo singer (‘Off the Wall’ and ‘Thriller’). This obviously means it missed out about half his life which I have to admit I was disappointed by, but there’s not a lot you can do about that.

Imagine yourself sitting by the fireplace in a warm and cozy place (such as Neverland) in the 80s, with Michael Jackson telling you the story of his life. That's what reading this book feels like.
