I absolutely loved reading Are We Nearly There Yet? When I read that ‘if you liked Bridget Jones you will love this!’ and just had to read it, and I am so glad I did.
Alice is very much like the modern-day version of Bridget Jones, even the comfy underwear ha-ha. Everyone around her is growing up, getting married, starting a family. But Alice has just turned 30 and her life is the same as it has always been, no boyfriend, temping jobs and living with Eva, her best friend, nothing has changed.
So when Eva gets a boyfriend and announces her pregnancy Alice wants to just get away from it all knowing that she will probably not even have somewhere to live very soon.

Alice decides to travel around the world and what fun and not so much fun she had along the way.
This was simply too funny, it made me laugh out loud but also made me think about my life too.

Someone please tell me why I haven’t read one of Lucy’s books before!? I am so glad this has now been rectified and I can’t wait to get her other books on my TBR pile.

We meet Alice at her thirtieth birthday party and events that occur at this party make her want to jet off on an adventure to ‘find herself’ therefore she packs her bags and goes to three incredible destinations, much to her best friend Eva’s disappointment as she will miss Alice so much. I was absorbed in this story from the very first page till I closed the book. I absolutely adored Alice, however her sister Hannah is a barrel of laughs (you will see why!) I thought the format of the story was brilliant, we see blog posts from Alice throughout her trip with the very amusing comments attached!

‘Are We Nearly There Yet?’ is a compelling story about realising your self worth and being brave enough to go on a journey of self discovery ❤️. This has to be one of my favourite reads of 2019 so far and I’m gutted it had to end! 😊 I give ‘Are We Nearly There Yet?’ a very befitting 5*/5*!

This was a tough read for me. The main character annoyed me. It wasn't until around page 190 that the book changed direction and caught my attention more.

I read this book because I read a review that said it was a book that made the reviewer laugh out loud. I’m not sure I laughed at all but it was an interesting read. I preferred the actual story and skimmed through the blogging.

A new to me author, a story that is interesting at least, and a heroine that is so much relatable with some of my friends and their life choices.
I enjoyed the settings and descriptions, the fact that she’s blogging and the different side of stories and reality from what we read and what is happening in reality, the heroine arc grows towards the end of the book and that’s always something I’m looking forward in my readings .
Overall it’s a good story with some funny moments but also a bit of reality in it.
As it’s an easy and quick read, I’ll recommend it to my friends for their summer reading books.

Lucy Vine is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. Her books are ones I relate to and also can’t help laugh out load every time I read her books

Alice is turning 30 and all her friends are settling down so she takes off on an around the world trip to find herself. Heading to LA, Thailand and Australia.

I couldn’t help but laugh at some of the one liners and situations Alice got herself into.

This wasn’t my favourite of all Lucy Vine’s books but it was still really good

This was a slow burner for me. I don’t know if it’s because it’s come at the end of a mega reading binge but just didn’t grip me like I thought it would.
Lead character grated on me slightly but by the end with the family reconciliations it gave me the happy buzz.
Praise for Vine’s comedy narrative though. Some real laugh out loud moments; some points where I was like “thought that was just me who thought/did that”

Overall a nice lil lighthearted read

This book reminded me of Bridget Jones, which is one of my favourite films of all time- the main character Alice is very relatable which makes the book very enjoyable
