I LOVED this book. I cracked up so many times but I felt bad for them too. That was the worst trip experience ever. The pig was hilarious. Manny’s fluency in Spanish was pretty great too.

I think that might be the funniest Wimpy Kid book I've read yet! I laughed out loud so many times I woke the kid I'm babysitting from his nap. Oops!

I enjoyed reading this one with the 7 year old. I wasn’t laughing the whole book, but I was pretty invested, wanting to know what would happen next. I like how some things are unresolved—giving room for discussions about choices, assumptions and consequences. I can’t remember how many of these I read, but this might be one of my favorites.
Also the ten year old popped in for a few chapters and asked me to promise we’d go on a road trip next summer. So while a lot goes wrong on the Heffley’s trip, it still inspires kids to travel.

Greg and his family are out on a summer road trip and this installment of the series follows them on the journey and the craziness that ensues - including winning a baby pig at a fair and spending the night in less than reputable hotel.
Of the series, I have to say this is not my favorite. The story line is funny, and fans of the series will love it, but some parts are unrealistic. (And, since it takes place in the summer, I miss the "poking" school humor.)
