TJR has perfectly written a multiverse plot without hurting my head in the process.

I thought this was a beautiful book that made me think about what fate means, what a soulmate looks like, and the butterfly effect. The one problem I had with the book is that at times it seemed like Reid underestimated the intelligence of the reader. She over explained the points she was making, rather than letting the story speak for itself, which made parts seem cheesy and over the top.

Cute Read
Some heavy topics but easy to fly through. Love the parallel story line. Rekindled love theme throughout. And of course as it's written by Taylor Jenkins Reid, strong female characters.

(Audiobook] It’s an interesting idea, and I love both this author and the narrator. Still, just not a favorite. Even as a vacation read, I had a hard time caring enough to get through it.

When I started reading this book, I thought I was going to end up, not finishing it and reading it. Two stars because I was so opposed to the actions of the main character that lead her to the first major decision which the timelines in the book. I thought the best friend who is supportive was going to get taken advantage of and, that it was going to be an uneven friendship, which made me dislike the main character even less. However, that was a prediction that did not turn out to be true.
Even though I only wrote down, kept track of a few quotes in the book I feel like, the things I didn’t like about the beginning were necessary to be there for me to feel the impact of the way the rest of the book played out. I was a little bit confused at first starting certain chapters because of the split timelines, but I decided to make a very small mark in the top corner of each chapterto indicate which storyline I was reading because sometimes I needed to go back and look at how something had left off.
I think that the view that the character takes on choices is important but I also think that underneath that message is another one. The choices we make, both big and small, etc. however, those choices when they stem from our core values will hopefully always lead us to the place we’re supposed to be. of course, it’s probably difficult to analyze in a single moment choice align with your values, because sometimes we need time to reflect that in order to determine purpose or reason behind doing things. However, if we can do that and course correct as soon as possible when there’s an opening, I think that our values, as a person determines whether the choices we make will lead us to a future we are happy with.
