I really liked the story, up until the end. I feel like the ending was very abrupt

Heartbreaking, somewhat predictable, but great story nonetheless. Made me cry

Reading this book with too much life experience, you would begin to instead of being sympathetic to the “young star-crossed lovers” you instead agree with the adults and believe that they’re being absolute idiots Through a suspension of disbelief, overcoming illness and love and, just generally it would be considered adorable and some such, but this begs the question of whether love is worth dying for. Personally, I feel the ending of the book is better than the movie (and is changed and less dramatic and over all happy) but this is the first case where the film is better in most parts at expressing the emotions and allowing to become more engrossed in the overcoming of illness thing with the use of music instead of reading about two dumb kids who keep trying to die. The movie doesn’t change that fact, it’s just easier to ignore.

I was expecting this to be heart-wrenching, but I think if I read this in middle school it would’ve had a bigger impact on me. My problem was I went into this book with too high expectations.
