Thoughts
I liked this. I'm not going to lie I watched the movie before reading the book so I knew what was going to happen. So the intrigue was there but not really. Even though I know book is based off the movie I still wanted to read it because it was in my collection and I got it from a friend.

Things I liked
- The Relationships: Even though this was short I feel like the author did a good job at developing the relationships. Not just with Will and Stella but with everyone. When someone is ill you can help but be close and want to support them and I think in this way they showed all facets of this including loss.
- The Message: The movie and novel was made to raise awareness of CF. The rawness of this and the level of detail describing this condition in my opinion was done well. However I don't have CF so my opinion shouldn't really matter but regardless I loved the message.

Things I didn't love
There is nothing I can point out that I didn't like. But this story isn't for me. It's emotional and sad but it's also a love story which I do love.

I think if you like books that are emotional, have meaning behind them, are well written then I think this is something you may enjoy. But it is emotional and it can be confronting on a medical front so keep that in mind.

Representation
Gay (side character), Cystic Fibrosis (main and side character)

Honestly, I read this book for a class I’m taking on the representation of terminal illness in YA literature. I think what helps this book the most is the dual narration; experiencing the trials and tribulations of the main characters lives with cystic fibrosis through their eyes just brings you that much closer to them. A good tug at the heart strings overall.
