Brave
Jill did an awesome job sharing her side of the story here. As a long time Duggar follower and someone that grew up in a similar Fundamental church, it is empowering to read her story of strength and bravery even as it meant pushing back on her own family. I hope she continues to heal and maybe this book would give others the strength to step forward to heal as well.

If it's about a cult, I will most likely read it. The cult, IBLP, that Jill was raised in caused irreparable harm to so many. Jill deserves so much credit for courageously sharing her story.

Bon livre! J'étais en colère à plusieurs moments quand je voyais toute la violence que cette famille à vécu

Jill is not an author. She’s a real person who lived a life for her parents, religion, and tv. I imagine her thoughts on the situation will evolve as she and her family grow and change. This book felt like she was as honest as she could be about what happened.

I’ve followed the Duggar family for a long time and have my own experiences with being raised Christian and having to deconstruct. In many ways I felt very seen listening to this book. I don’t agree with most of what the Dillards still hold to when it comes to religion, but this book reminds us that there is more going on behind closed doors than anyone knows, and I’m glad that she is able to tell her story.
