I am a big Taylor Swift fan but I’m not about to read TS fanfic… but I also really don’t like to skip books in a series if I can help it.

This book has near constant references to TS with only a handful of them being charming. Most of them are cringy and just a continuous reminder that this book is mirrored after someone’s real life which weirds me out. (Edit: Having now read Anaconda Downstairs, this book’s references to TS seem tame in comparison. That book is a direct copy of TS and Travis’s 2023/2024)
The second half of the book when they “get away” makes it readable at least. It is also very insta-lovey and that’s not really my thing.
I think if you don’t have an idea for a book then you shouldn’t write one about someone else’s life and capitalize on their story and success.

📝 This was a fine book but didn't quite grab me. It also didn't really track that the FMC fell for the MMC the way she did? The plot was interesting and kept me engaged. The FMC was kinda confusing to me because she is so clearly an analog for Taylor Swift, but then they explicitly reference that Taylor Swift ALSO exists in this world???

🌶️ 3/5 The scenes were explicit but there were only a couple of them and they didn't really grab me either.

🏳️‍🌈✊ Good fat representation and some light activism stuff. Decently feminist. Some minor character diversity.

🎧 Great performances from both narrators!

I loved this! It's a great quick, light read, full of body positivity, and spice! The fat woman gets the big man. I loved Wiener the Pooh, LOL, such a cute little pup. Plus, all the T. Swift references. It also had a decent plot, so it wasn't pointless fluff, but still spicy fluffy.
I never trusted Skeeter, she was working Kelsey too hard from the get-go.

Both narrators did an excellent job!

unfortunately i did not like this book as much as the first. i loved the characters but i didn’t connect with it as much as the first and once i realised it was basically a taylor swift x travis kelce fanfic it put me off a little (not that there is anything wrong with that but it took me out of the world a little and it just didn’t hit me like the others). a shame but still enjoyable. one thing i did like was that even though it was grumpy x sunshine, kelsey never actually thought of him as “mean” or grumpy as everyone portrayed him and thought of him as and he nevertrated her that way. i’m excited for everett’s book!
