I think I’ve just come to realize that this series is not for me.

Mary Poppins came back.
And she returned with happiness, phantastic gimmicks and a stern education for the children.
With child number 5, Annabel, the Banks's children are a handful for her. Still she manages to amaze them and give them numerous hilarious adventures of all I wish they were true and I experienced them myself as a child.
I will continue to read all books of Mary Poppins's series. They are the perfect balance to stressful days.

I don't understand why Mary Poppins is always so cross and denies all the fantastic things that happen when she takes the children out! But the story is great, draws you in and is exactly like what a girl might dream up what her nanny does on her night off. :)

The real Mary Poppins is enchanting and fascinating, taking her charges on fabulous adventures, not singing and smiling sweetly with cartoons and silly people!

The books have so much more than the movie - not just in the content but in the character of Mary Poppins. In the movie she's lovely (I adore Julie Andrews as well and have loved her in any movie), but in the books she is a wonderful mix of caring nanny and peremptory caregiver and somebody so magical that the animals bow to her and the sun dances a most special dance with her and spring doesn't happen without her assistance, and more. She's a mystery and marvellous things happen when she's around.

The grandchildren are loving these books and are eager for us to begin the next!

Good, still trying to come to terms with this version of Mary Poppins. (she is not as likable as the Disney bersion). Getting into the style of PL Travers writing.

Listened to this old favorite in audio. Missed the illustrations but oh, it was wonderful to hear it in a British voice!
