I learned so much about the blind community, the experience of losing your sight, the innovations in technology that the blind community created and how they use it. Totally recommend! This was enjoyable on audio.

Enjoyed how in depth and research driven this book was. For a memoir, I would say there aren’t as many excerpt of Leland’s experiences (more so interviews or conversations he had with other people).

I enjoyed the parts that were about his personal experience going blind and his struggle with disability identity. But a lot of the book is disability 101, which was well done but was old news to me.

I listened to this as an audiobook. I really loved it! One of my faves this year

A fascinating memoir and overall informative and important look into disability. A little all over the place though and a little dry.

This was a special read that stayed in my mind far after I put down the book after a reading session. The history weaved throughout the memoir is tough to deal with at times. You would hope moving forward we don't disclude anyone with sight impairment. This book will be one I recommend to everyone.
