overall, great read! was thrown off by a few things that made me unable to give it a full five stars — using israeli as a descriptor without any critique or reflection, and describing the same person as both a liberal and a radical in the same string of descriptors. really enjoyed the book as a whole, though!

This was an enlightening read. it really changed my perspective on disability generally and blindness specifically. Leland writes in such an intimate and emotionally moving way. i especially enjoyed the stories of the people he has met on his journey. i would recommend this book to anyone
