I’m so frustrated with this book!!!! The plot is so slow for the majority of the book while most of the characters are separated. Then at the end all of the conflicts come together with big reveals and a cliffhanger before the final book. I’m so annoyed because we could have taken several hundred pages out of this book and the fourth book and combined them. This series did not need to be drug out into 6 books. And she’s putting Auren through more shit?? That woman has been through enough. Let’s get to the end of this conflict already. Ugh it’s like the twisted sisters and Zodiac Academy all over again. More pages and books doesn’t necessarily equal a better story.

Well, I hoped for a few minutes there that this would end on a hopeful cliffhanger, not a "oh shit" cliffhanger. But no such luck...

This is much better than the last book and back to the brilliance of the series. The Malina story irritated me at first as it kind of came out of nowhere but I got really into it! I love her character development even if she is responsible for so much disaster!

I had hoped for a reunion in this book, but that didn't happen. I can't see how it will happen any time soon, but I kind of feel that timings are different between Slade's pov and Aurens. So maybe he will be closer than expected!

Bringing in so many new characters and environments in the fifth book of the series is bold but it worked.

Queen Kaila is a bitch.

3.5 stars. I had a difficult time rating this because it’s beautifully written, like always, but there were so many chapters written from the perspectives of people I care little of, if at all. I almost began to resent them for simply taking up space in the story.

They’re all well thought out and skillfully immersive stories that even eventually lend some spice, but I wasn’t able to appreciate them while in anxious anticipation to catch up with the main characters that I’ve missed since reading the last one.

I’m sure the character development in these stories will be integral to the plot of the last one, but I’m almost too exhausted from multitasking both over-rationalizing and reading to consider Goldfinch it if it’s like this.

The ending!! Is just cruel and I hope it’s one of those things that are resolved quickly when everyone already has enough going on without that awful trope.

Herrlich. Einfach herrlich.

Mehr folgt muss das mal verdauen

Was für ein Ende
