Enjoyed this one good twist at the end. Wick is a truley?? Related to aurwen and found the out that seeing auras means their fated which big surprise. They also steal her memories?? Her and slade still separated.
I think this book could've been about 150pgs shorter. Too many rissa and big guy chapters where she didn't wake up lots of extra stuff that made the book way toooooo looooooong.
Love slade tho

3.75

3.75/5 - Despite the ending of the last book I struggled after the initial dive into this book to get into it. I think it was all the different stories and the pacing of them because I’d get into one and than it’d switch POV’s and I’d just struggle to change gears until the new POV finally caught my attention just to than switch again. I get it, I do I understand why but I’d already pretty much guessed most of what would happen that by the time I got back around to say Auren’s POV I felt like I was reading what I already knew. Her storyline especially was not all that hard to untwist. Excited in a few months for see how the story ends fully though!

3.75 ⭐️ this hurt because I am so obsessed with this series. But imo it could have been a novella. So much useless information, and I could not get into the book until the last 10 chapters. I love this series so much and cannot wait to see what Book 6 has in store. But Book 5 was just so…. Boring. Also not a fan of the main characters being separated for an entire book trope.

I knew going in that this is the penultimate book of the series, which ends on a cliffhanger, and that the series finale is done, but not released on audio yet. That being the case, I lowered my expectations about how it would feel when I finished listening to this book. It was not a satisfying ending because everything important is still up in the air. There are still many directions that the story can go from here and some things may not resolve completely to my particular taste, so I reserve the right to absolutely hate the next book, although I don’t expect that to happen.

Auren has an interesting perspective and I have to know how her story ends. The rest of the characters are ok, but I can’t really say that I care that much about how many of them make it through the final boss level. The bonded pairing  thing has raised its ugly head, so I hope that does not completely derail what has been established. It’s the one plot device that I wish the author would have left out.

This was a slow book. It moved the story along but it really felt like a filler. We didn't learn a whole lot until the very end so that made it hard for me to get through this one.
