This is a subject that fascinates me because I have an unusually strong affinity for seeds. I love to collect them, plant them, and eat them. I enjoyed a lot of the information in this book, but I didn't love the way the book was structured. It felt like a collection of pieces of information without something cohesive to connect those pieces together.

This felt like reading a really interesting and we'll written paper on seed evolution without feeling the boredom that comes with reading scientific papers.

A bit of a tough read - v info heavy and I found some of the chapters too long to read in one sitting but I still absolutely loved this book. It gave me a whole new appreciation for food and as a keen gardener and plant fanatic, reminded me of why nature is just so incredible.

It's always interesting to read about something that never crosses our minds in normal, daily life. Seeds are one of those things. I never really looked at the seeds, wondered about it (despite my curiosity) and thought about how my life and the life of everyone in this world is so dependent on something tiny.

Nor did I ever think of any evolutionary impact seeds, or for that matter plants, might have had on us as homo sapiens. Thor Hanson, does a brilliant job of plant those seeds of thought (pun intended) into the readers' mind.

The book is light and does not contain the heavy biological terms and jargons that other biology books have and manages to captivate the imagination of readers as the author takes us to various parts of the world, in this time and the past.

It is a book that will leave you with more questions or at least points to ponder over, which I think is the purpose of books. To leave the reader with a curiosity and the urge to seek more information.

This book checks all those boxes. I really liked the book and highly recommend it.

Good book on the evolution of seeds and how they have effected plants, animals and humans throughout history without getting too bogged down in the scientific jargon. Entertaining and informative!
