You know what? This is one of those books that you gotta read brain-empty. You start having an analytical thought? Yeah shUT it down.
Now, after you successfully do that, you can enjoy how the main character was actually satisfying in how she denied her husband, knew better than to trust him, and made his sorry ass grOVEL FOR THE WHOLE BOOK. It was glorious. I love it when men beg for forgiveness

I went to re read this book again just to feel like my heart was being ripped out again and again felt like my previous review did not do this book justice.
I love this book, and is probably the best , most devastating and anger inducing marriage in trouble books I have ever read. It is 100% my go to recommendation if you just want to feel like your heart is being ripped out. Which is an excellent accomplishment considering this book is really short being about 25 chapters and about 3000 pages.
This book does sort of skip the first year and a half of their marriage, you’re just kinda thrown into the middle of it and you kinda learn more about their relationship and marriage as you go along.
Essentially the MMC was forced into a marriage with the FMC to protect something dear to him and felt like the FMC was to blame for their situation and wanted to hurt her the way he hurt.
Despite all that and how this book is supposed to be like a love to hate and then back to love type thing, I really didn’t like the MMCs constant name calling. He called her a bitch like twice during an argument and idk why it just didn’t really sit right with me.
Even considering the situation it wasn’t even when they “hated” each other. It was just when he considered her to be unreasonable or over dramatic.
Because of this though my absolute favorite part of this book was how they forced on the FMCs feelings and her unwillingness to forgive and move forward with the MMCs because after a year of being treated like a burden and 2nd option to someone who didn’t even know her she couldn’t trust him. And i’m glad for it. I’m glad it wasn’t skipped over and all was resolved because he now realized his mistake and loved her. I’m glad he had to work to earn even a sliver of her trust back.
Though that didn’t stop me from feeling absolutely devastated when she talked about how she felt.

Sweet arranged marriage second chance romance
This was a well written and emotional second chance romance with groveling, redemption, and great character growth and development. It's an arranged marriage forced proximity love story with a pregnancy trope. The spice was tasteful, too.
***Spoilers below***
This story starts with our leads, Theresa and Alessandro, who have been married for 18 months, and while they have great sexual chemistry, they are clearly unhappy. Theresa finally asks for a divorce but is refused by Alessandro. She then learns that her marriage was infact a result of a forced contract by her father and the reason for her husband's cold behavior since their wedding. While she had married him because she truly had feelings for him, he was forced and thus resented her. Not knowing that Theresa was never part of her father's schemes. When he learns he feels awful for treating her horribly and is ready to give their marriage a chance as he always did feel attracted to her but his father's contract had made him feel forced. But by now Theresa is ready to end things even sooner as she knows the truth of the awful deal her dad did.
However, The contract includes a term where they can only get a divorce once they produce a son, an heir for her father. When Theresa finds out she in fact is pregnant, it becomes a possibility. But Alessandro doesn't want this marriage to end and is running out of time to convince his wife that he does truly love her.
And so the story follows them rebuilding feelings and learning about each other on a new level, after months of cold distance.
I enjoyed the story and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a sweet, easy second chance romance.

I have no idea how to rate this book. On the one hand, I want to rate it 4 stars for the angst and sadness and absolute rage that felt for the mc and at the hero.
On the other, I want to rate it a 2 stars because in my eyes, the hero was unredeemable. He was a c word that is too inappropriate for a book app (but not inappropriate for us Aussies). He seemed to not grow all that much to me during that whole story, and I don’t know how the mc can trust him after 18 months of a sh1tt1 emotionally, mentally, verbally abusive and neglectful marriage.
I don’t get it but damn I read the entire thing in one sitting. I GOBBLED it up so dang fast. So many people said the grovelling was top notch but the hero gave me the ick far too many times.
So no rating I guess LMAO

this felt like i was scrolling through cable tv and landed on a dramatic ass lifetime tv show…
i started this because i wanted to see if sandro is truly the Groveling King. and while the writing was questionable, i do think the groveling was good!!
sandro is 100% a red flag at times, especially in the beginning he was so completely cruel. i didn’t think i’d ever he able to forgive him. but then he realized his mistake and started trying to fix his and theresa’s relationship and he got way better. he’s still kinda a red flag but a lighter shade of red..
i liked theresa. i felt really bad for her, and i was glad she held out so long. like obviously she didn’t hold out in all sense of the word- they still had sex- but she held back her emotions which was what really upset sandro. i loved seeing him so stressed about her letting them have a physical relationship, but being hesitant towards letting him in emotionally. all of his little deeds to win her back too were so cute too.
i actually really like the pregnancy trope so this was really good. i loved sandro being so adamant about it being a girl. i love me a girl dad!!
the writing was weird at times. especially the dialogue. and it took me a minute to realize there was hardly any cursing at all which felt strange to me. even words like butt/ass were never said. i don’t have an issue with keeping language clean, but if you’re gonna write a certain genre, especially one with smut, i don’t wanna read words like “backside” or even “penis” it just takes me out of it…
just because the book read a little like a christian moms romance novel, my rating isn’t as high as it could be, but i did really enjoy the groveling and while i would never consider sandro a book bf, i do think him and theresa are cute. glad they got their happy ending!

this was so bad but it was so fucking good. i had the time of my life reading that it was so entertaining. i need so much more of this trope in other books and it is a genuine tragedy that there are not 3827382 more books like this. men groveling and suffering? what is there not to love???? i need more and i need it now. both characters were stupid but i forgive them because i was thoroughly entertained.
