Oh my god. The groveling! Loved everything about this except for one small thread.

When the author tied up the situation with her father... that was a big let down. I vehemently do not agree with that artistic decision! Oh well...

Definitely read this one if you're looking for a story about a betrayed wife without cheating.

I must admit that this is one of the worst books I've ever read. I don't even know where to start with listing all the things I hated about it...but here it is:

MMC is disgusting, controling, abusive and hateful towards the FMC for the majority of the book. He disregards her emotions and treats her with so much disrespect as if she's below him and unworthy. The things he says to her are horrific. Here are some examples:
"You would deny me, your husband, this basic marital right?" "What's to stop me from simply taking what belongs to me?" (He's talking about sex. Later on he proceds to be offended that she would ever think he would rape her...)
- "God, you're the most contrary little bitch!" He hissed" (Who tf talks like that to the women they supposedly love???)

But then as the book goes on there is a shift in his character and he's supposedly a good guy who was just dealing with a shitty situation??? Give me a break. He was still a manipulative, lying asshole who couldn't have a proper honest conversation with his wife for 3 YEARS (200 pages of the book) because he's just that emotionally constipated.

What I hated about the FMC was her inability to properly stand up for herself and resist his "sexiness". She kept being attracted to him and wanting him in the weirdest situations even when he was being a complete jerk.

He got off way too easy and did barely any groveling to make up for the stuff he did and the way he acted. She shouldn't have forgiven his sorry ass.

okay, first off, this book was good.
if you like grovelling: yes, he grovelled. a lot.
ill keep saying this: theresa deserved better. but not that she deserved better than him, no. she deserved better from him. because we all know how sandro can get.
there are a lot of things in this book that i simply cannot write, as i am still processing some information, but this book has inspired me in a way i haven’t seen from a lot of books.
theresa is admirable. so is her selflessness. but she found that being selfish sometimes really does make life easier.

i love this book, but it is not a good book. it’s just very cathartic if you need to cry but not be devastated so i keep reading it when i need to experience emotions again lol
