This reminds me of the Harlequin books I used to read as a teenager. It was not an enjoyable experience whatsoever. The MMC is a toxic abusive loser who threatened to rape his wife and called her the b-word twice. The FMC is a male-identified idiot who didn't want to have a daughter just to please the men in her life. What a beautiful love story !

I got a few chapters in but the 'hero' was too abusive, this is a very old fashioned 'romance' as in late 20th C old fashioned Mills and Boon. Dubious consent, heroine is manipulated and spineless but just so hot for him she can't help submitting. Urg.
