i think for years i thought this was my least favorite in the series, but honestly?? this book is brilliant. the final plot twist is most likely the most shocking and incredible of the entire series, like, i never saw this coming back in 2010. also, this is when we start having more time at camp and meeting the other kids (who i adore). anyways, i love you, my percy and annabeth and grover, and, also, i love you so so so much, my baby tyson. i'd carry you around in my pocket forever, if you'd only fit there.
p.s.: yes, i also love clarisse. her arc in this book is amazing, even when she makes me want to punch her in the face for never. thinking. before. acting.

As is usually the case, the second book was better than the first! I very happily ventured through this adventure and enjoyed each step along the way. In the Sea of Monsters, Percy was faced with new trials, old politics, and a new sense of bravery.
Starting the next one today and I can't wait to see what mischief the gang gets in this time!

A good sequel. Fast paced and entertaining with positive messages. I especially liked the introduction of my Greek mythological characters.

(audiobook) probably the weakest of the og series, but still fun and definitely is an amazing bridge between books 1 and 3
