Read it in less than 24hours, couldn’t put it down. Soooo much bouncing around the time line and plot line. So much information, so very detailed in so many ways
…but NEVER answers the biggest question: what happens to June?!?!?

the descriptive style of writing and attention to detail enabled me to almost sense the things described; smell, touch, taste.

favorite line from the book—
“He breathes in with the smoke a different kind of sadness that is not so unwelcome. It is not the sharp grief he had felt for months now, but a quiet, familiar, and long-standing heartbreak that had less to do [with his own life], and more to do with the changing trees and the new chill and charred soil that mark a yearly routine that goes on in spite of everything.” -pg 176
