Like a 3.5 rounded up because there wasn’t anything bad about the book

This was a pretty good prequel, but I'm not going to lie, I found the creation of Narnia to be extremely underwhelming. I get it, Jesus Lion is amazing. However, his magic powers, when they continue to be exaggerated in this fashion, make all of the wars and violence in the other Narnia books look more ridiculous. Jesus Lion could easily have prevented suffering, but didn't because he wanted the Sons of Adam to learn lessons and shit. I also disliked the witch's adventures on Earth, which seemed like a bad comedy skit.

Aside from that, there's a lot of good stuff in here, and I did like the origin story for the wardrobe. I also love that a little boy making an extraordinarily dumb decision (ringing the bell for NO reason) ended up bringing about years of slavery and misfortune in a virgin world. I get annoyed by Aslan, but the series overall has been a lot of fun and I'm anxious to see how Lewis ties everything up in The Last Battle.

This book was slightly boring to me, but it was still good! My favorite character was Digory (not a huge surprise I mean he was basically the main character) I don't think I would change the ending at all in this book! It seemed like the best way to end it! Although I was surprised when Aslan let him take an apple home after lecturing him about how it could have horrible effects. I don't have much else to say now... so yeah.

The Magician's Nephew de C.S Lewis.

Loved the start of the series! It establishes the series and lore well. I did enjoy the colorful worlds and how they intertwine with the main series. Ready to read on with the rest of the series!
