A quick read that can be read as a stand alone but might want to read more to see what happened to some of other characters. There were parts that made me laugh. I haven't read any books by this author and had heard about her on the internet so thought this would be a good book to try. Not disappointed reading this at all. Will be looking for more by this author. The only con, even knowing it is a short book is that wished there was more lol. Want to know more on all the characters as Lizzie sister Cat just made me laugh with some of the things she did. I would recommend this book to others to read.

Unlikely fluff of just the right length, hitting the spot of exactly what I needed at that moment.

It was enough to make me interested in picking up the series, which I often suspect these novellas are meant to be, at least some of the time.

Absolutely phenomenal book and well deserving of a High 5 Teacups! Eloisa James has done it again! She weaves such a tale of love, romance and passion that speaks to the hearts of her readers! I literally devoured this book, reading it in two days. Once I opened it, I couldn’t put it down! I love her wit with which she creates her characters, they are deep with histories and obstacles they must overcome. I absolutely loved Oliver and Lizzie, there’s no more perfect pair than these to star-crossed lovers. I highly recommend this book, you will want to add this to your collection!

This was more than a "palate cleanser" - although I had started it as such. I enjoyed this novella about Oliver and Lizzie a lot.
Convincing protagonists, a "realistic" storyline, great banter - what more could I ask for?

This was cute enough, though I wondered a couple of times if it was self-published because my copy had a couple of easily-caught typos.

Oliver Berwick didn't want to attend the house party that his niece was dragging him to. He especially didn't want to come face-to-face with Lady Catrina Windingham - a woman whose first season was ruined when Oliver and his friends had given her the nickname of Wooly Breeder. Lady Lizzy Troutt, Catrina's sister also didn't want to be party of a party. Although her husband had been dead for over a year she still dressed like she was in mourning. Only, she really had no reason to mourn her husband because he had never truly been a husband to her. He'd packed her away in the country and went to live with his mistress.
When Oliver walked in to the house the first person he sees is Lizzie and something clicks (for him at least). Later, Cat enlists Oliver to help her sister come back to the laughing fun girl she had been. She wants to see Lizzie wed again. Oliver accepts the challenge to cheer up her sister but he also wants to see Lizzy married - to him!
This is a quick and fun read. Oliver is one of the good guys, not a rake or a scoundrel but someone who is truly interested in a lady and willing to let her be her own person. If you like any of Eloisa James books, you'll enjoy this story.

2.5. I thought this book was a nice, light, read. Cat was way too much though. I don't remember her from the other novels but she was super pushy. Nice to see Josie and Mayne. Made me feel like rereading their story again.
