I really enjoyed getting to know the characters in this book. It was intriguing to see the characters grow up. The book was a little slow in parts, but not to the point where I had to put the book down.

The best book I have read in a while. It’s nerdy and funny and devastating. Sam and Sadie’s relationship was so realistic, and I loved their ‘frenemy’ vibes because it always left me wondering what would happen next. Stories about platonic love are so refreshing (there’s romance in the book, too). I honestly cried when this book was over because I wanted to keep reading the story.

Be prepared for how dense this can be! It’s an emotional read for anyone in their 20’s as their friends become such a key part of their lives. Some knowledge of video games may help with engagement, but it didn’t stop me! Worth it for the characters and their relationship. Few books take you on this decades long journey and pay it off
